The Honor X9a’s main selling point is its display. It has a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with a curvature of 45 degrees. Because curved displays are more prone to shattering, Honor provides “Deeply Reinforced Glass” protection that can withstand the stress of over 900Mpa2.

This is a 10-bit color depth panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz. There is also a 1920Hz PWM Dimming to reduce flickering in low-light situations, as well as TÜV Rheinland low blue light certification to make the display easy on the eyes.

The smartphone is 7.9mm thick and weighs 175 grams. The device’s back features a large central camera ring that houses a triple camera setup. It comes in Titanium Silver, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black colors.

Performance

Powering the X9a is a Snapdragon 695 chipset. It’s a pretty modest SoC with adequate performance for day-to-day use. But given that smartphones competing with Honor, such as the Reakme 10 Pro+ and the Redmi Note 12 Pro/Pro+ , offer a better processor, Honor should have made a better choice in this regard.

Memory-wise, you have only the option of 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. And since it doesn’t support a microSD card, there is no option for memory expansion. Whereas the RAM can be virtually expanded up to 5GB using the RAM Turbo feature. Similarly, Honor continues to ship the X9a with Android 12 -based Magic UI 6.1.

Cameras

There is a 64MP primary lens, as well as a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor. There is no OIS support, and strangely, the company hasn’t even offered an EIS stabilization. The maximum video resolution you can record from the rear camera is 1080p@30fps. For selfies, you get a 16MP sensor which again, maxes out at 1080p@30fps videos.

Rest of the specs

The Honor X9a is stuffed with a 5100mAh battery despite having a slim body. It charges via a 40W adapter that takes less than an hour to fully charge the cell. Similarly, the biometric option includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and face recognition.
